Kevin Smith’s Clerks 3 in the Works. Brian O’Halloran, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes will star in the final installment of the Clerks Trilogy. Clerks III will be Kevin Smith’s last theatrical film as both writer and director. The filmmaker made the official announcement via Twitter: “So with the HIT SOMEBODY shift, the minute Jeff Anderson signs on, my last cinematic effort as a writer/director will be CLERKS III.” The hockey comedy Hit Somebody was originally intended to be Smith’s final film but it’s now being reworked as a six-hour mini-series.

CLERKS III tells the continuing adventures of Quick Stop clerks Dante (Brian O’Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson), who try to make the best of their menial labor, with no help from loitering slackers Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith).

The Butler Latest Movie of 2013

Weinstein Co. to Release Lee Daniels’ The Butler. Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey and David Oyelowo lead an all-star cast in the Eugene Allen biopic The Butler, directed by Lee Daniels (Precious). The Weinstein Co. has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film, but have not announced an official release date. Check out the first movie photos for The Butler below. The story chronicles the life of White House head butler Eugene Allen (Whitaker). Over the course of his career, Allen served eight presidents from 1952 to 1986 and had a unique front-row seat as political and racial history was made, from the Civil Rights Act of 1964, to the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy.

THE BUTLER, based on the screenplay by Danny Strong & Lee Daniels, is inspired by Wil Haygood’s Washington Post article “A Butler Well Served by This Election” about Eugene Allen (Whitaker), an African-American man, who served as a butler to eight Presidents in the White House for over thirty years.
