Film Music About John Zorn:

Zorn has written music for documentaries, underground films, television commercials and cartoons are described in the Filmworks albums on the label Tzadik. Some films are influenced by jazz and other classical and most feature ensembles consisting of rotating combinations of center musicians. 2002 was a productive one for Zorn's cinematic evaluation. Filmworks XI: Secret of Life (2002) showed the Masada String Trio performing music for Aviva Slesin documentary about Jewish children hidden from the Nazis [45] Filmworks XII (2002) offers music for three documentaries; homecoming:. Celebrating Twenty Years of Dance at PS 122, Shaolin Ulysses found a film about Shaolin monk in America, and variations on the theme of family, a documentary on outsider artist Morton Bartlett. [46] [47] [48] Zorn released his third soundtrack collection of 2002 with Filmworks XIII: Invitation suicide written for a black comedy about a man selling tickets to his suicide to save the life of his father. [49]

Zorns be placed in the next two Filmworks production of a documentary study of Jewish identity and anti-Semitism. Filmworks XIV: Hiding and Seeking (2003) provided the soundtrack of a documentary about an Orthodox Jewish father tries to warn his sons risk creating barriers between themselves and those outside of their faith [50] Filmworks XV. Protocols of the Elders of Zion (2005) features music for a documentary about the revival of anti-Semitism in the United States as a result of the September 11 attacks. [51]
